Does exercising on an empty stomach increase fat burning?

I have always been one to exercise in the morning usually before starting in on any other tasks. This means that I am always exercising on an empty stomach and I thought that contributed to my weight loss since I did not have any new carbs to burn. A recent study suggests my old belief may be incorrect. In fact, I may even be dipping into my protein stores. I think it’s time to do some experiments and let my body tell me the truth.
